Old Florence-Kelvin Highway Clean Up (South East of Florence)
Join us Saturday, April 30th from 7am to Noon for a trash clean up off of Old Florence-Kelvin Highway (South East of Florence).
Natural Restorations is partnering with Footprints Matter to Us to remove mattresses, several couches, a broken concrete pile, shingles, a hot tub cut in half, tires, and broken glass and trash scattered throughout the area.
*A responsible adult must accompany and supervise anyone under the age of 18.
Volunteers should wear long pants, sturdy closed toe shoes/boots, and bring thick work gloves. We also encourage volunteers to bring hats and sunglasses. We will have bottled water and snacks for volunteers but it's always a good idea to bring extra water with you now that the temperatures are heating up. Volunteers should expect some light hiking and lots of bending, stooping, and lifting. If you would like to volunteer but are unable to pick up trash, we're always looking for someone to help out at the Volunteer Sign-in table.
Trash attracts trash, help us reset the stage and remove trash from this beautiful area to discourage future dumping. Join us for a morning of stewardship and hands-on service learning. Take a stand for your land and have a fun morning with a great group of people.

From the East Valley (Higley & US-60) it takes just under an hour to reach the site. Take US-60 East and follow US-60 East to Exit 212 for AZ-79 South. Make a right and go South for quite a while. You will go through the town of Florence and street signs will say you are on Pinal Parkway Ave. When you get through Florence, signs will say you are on 79 South and fairly soon you will see a small green sign for Florence-Kelvin Highway, make a left here and continue East on Florence-Kelvin Highway. In about 4.3 miles, GPS will tell you to turn Left onto E Lazy R road and then arrived at Old Florence-Kelvin Highway. You will see a dumpster on the right and our banner to identify the site. Please park on the main dirt road to leave the road to the site open for equipment to get in and out to access the dumpsters.
