04/06/19 Rio Salado Cleanup Project Behind Liberty Wildlife

We teamed up with Liberty Wildlife and City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation for a Rio Salado Cleanup behind Liberty Wildlife in Phoenix. 163 volunteers, including 62 youth volunteers, helped us remove 3,199 pounds of trash and 11 tires! ⁣⠀

Liberty Wildlife is a non-profit wildlife rescue, rehabilitation & education center and their mission is to nurture the nature of Arizona. They opened the facility in 2016 and have been wanting to lead more tours down to the river to show that we have wildlife & habitats even inside the city. Unfortunately, the river collects trash and they find large accumulations right outside their back door. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped us make a huge impact on this wildlife area inside the city!

We would like to thank the following organizations for their support of this event:

American Rivers, City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation, CopperPoint Insurance Companies, Desert Monsters Tours, Matt & his team at The Home Depot in Mesa off of Power & McKellips, ICON Vehicle Dynamics, LeBaron & Carroll Insurance, Liberty Wildlife, OdySea Aquarium Foundation, Rubio’s, Salt River Project, & Tru Flask.

Check out all of the amazing photo galleries below from photographers, volunteers & a few from us including the photos below of some of the trash volunteers helped us remove.
