Inaugural base & Meridian Wildlife Area Cleanup ProjecT - Gila River

Natural Restorations teamed up with Arizona Game & Fish and REI for the Inaugural Base & Meridian Wildlife Area Cleanup on Saturday, December 1, 2018. 244 volunteers, including 90 youth volunteers, helped us remove 2 tons of trash, that’s 4,000 pounds of trash no longer littering this beautiful area.

Volunteers removed a variety of trash from beer and soda cans, to plastic bottles, plastic grocery bags, way too much finishing line, 33 tires, plastic and styrofoam cups, and so much more!

We will continue to work with Arizona Game & Fish and REI as we work towards a long-term solution to revitalize this beautiful area and keep it free from trash so it can become a premier outdoor recreation destination in the West Valley for the outdoor community.

Join us Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 from 9am to 12pm when we return to the Base & Meridian Wildlife Area for another cleanup event. Click HERE for details.
