footprints matter to us 17th Annual Hewitt Station cleanup with yamaha outdoor access initiative

On Saturday, January 17th, 2026, we partnered with Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative for the Footprints Matter to Us 17th annual Hewitt Station Environmental Stewardship Event.

Thank you, Sue Schaffer from Footprints Matter to Us, for starting this event 17 years ago! It was wonderful working with Sue for 6+ years on this event. We are honored to continue this event!

64 volunteers, including 4 youth volunteers, 10+ from the U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest - Mesa & Globe Districts, Officers from Pinal County Sheriff’s Office, & our Dedicated Restoration removed 10,120 pounds of trash & 4 tires! That’s 5.06 tons of trash no longer littering this beautiful area.

Thank you to everyone who has been supporting this event year after year, we cannot thank you enough for your support!

Thank you to everyone from the U.S. Forest Service Tonto National Forest - Mesa and Globe Ranger Districts coming out to the event to help! Thank you to Forest Service Law Enforcement for being on site before dawn to enforce the target shooting closure and help us keep volunteers safe!

Thank you to WW Clyde for donating the use of their front-end loader & donating the time of their operator, Austin, to help us get trash from the sites back to both dumpster & for donating a bunch of water! Thank you to everyone from WW Clyde who came out to volunteer with us!

Thank you to Officers from Pinal County Sheriff’s Office for continuing to provide support for this event!
