Day AFter Easter Lower Salt River Land & WAter Cleanup

On Monday, April 6th, 2026, we hosted a Day After Easter Lower Salt River Land & Water Cleanup on the Tonto National Forest, staging at Phon D Sutton Recreation Area.

XXX volunteers, including XX youth volunteer, helped us remove XX pounds (XX tons) of trash & invasive stinknet & cockleburs from the Lower Salt River. Thank you to everyone who helped us make a positive impact on the river!

Volunteers spent the morning with us exploring the riverbanks & trails along the Lower Salt River at multiple recreation sites, removing scattered trash along the way.

Volunteers also helped in a major way by pulling & bagging invasive stinknet & cockleburs that destroy biodiversity & increase fire hazards. It was awesome to see so many bags of stinknet leave the river!

These awesome volunteers pulled & bagged stinknet from another rec site along the river!

1,517 pounds (0.76 tons) of trash & invasive stinknet & cockleburs removed from the Lower Salt RiverThank you to everyone who came out to help!
