05/14/26 Lower Salt River Cleanup with SRP’s Rotational Engineering Team
On Thursday, May 14th, 2026, we teamed up with volunteers from SRP’s Rotational Engineering Team for a trash cleanup at Pebble Beach & Blue Point Recreation Areas along the Lower Salt River on the Tonto National Forest.
Volunteers hiked & explored Pebble Beach & Blue Point Recreation Areas along the Lower Salt River picking up scattered trash, cans, bottles, hats, blankets, plastic bags, towels, clothing, shoes, flip flops, sunglasses, an umbrella, & lots of micro trash, like cigarette butts, bottle tops, fishing line, confetti, toothpick flossers, pieces of wrappers & more. Several disgusting finds, including 2 dirty diapers & other trash left sitting on a grill meant for cooking food less than 30 steps from a dumpster.
Volunteers helped us remove 127.35 pounds of trash! Thank you to everyone from SRP’s Rotational Engineering Team for helping us make a positive impact on the Lower Salt River and for making an impact on our overall mission through your Sponsorship!
One of the more disgusting finds of the day was at Pebble Beach where someone could have walked 30 steps to a dumpster but chose to dump 2 dirty diapers & other garbage in a grill under one of the picnic Ramadas intended for community members to use to grill food.
