On the evening of Friday, June 29th, we co-hosted a cleanup along the Rio de Flag Watershed with United By Blue, Peace Surplus, the City of Flagstaff, and Friends of the Rio de Flag for our first ever joint waterway cleanup in Flagstaff.

Volunteers helped us remove 574.5 pounds of trash, including 26.5 pounds of rigid plastics that went to recycling. ⠀

Thank you to CopperPoint Insurance Companies, Desert Monsters ToursLeBaron & Carroll InsuranceOdySea Aquarium, and Salt River Project for your support of our overall program. Thank you to Steve Rusiecki and everyone at Arizona State Land Department for supporting this project.

This cleanup is one of 20 that United by Blue is co-hosting nationwide this summer, from June-August, to establish community partnerships between their specialty retailers, conservation or municipal partners, and volunteers.

For every product sold, United By Blue removes one pound of trash from our world's oceans and waterways. Be sure to check them out at unitedbyblue.com and look for their products in Flagstaff at Peace Surplus.
