earth day lower salt river cleanup with
Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.
On Monday, April 22nd, 2025, we teamed up with Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. for our 10th annual Earth Day Lower Salt River Cleanup on the Tonto National Forest.
471 volunteers, including 18 youth volunteers, helped us remove helped us remove 2,640 pounds (1.32 tons) of trash from several recreation sites along the river. Volunteers also helped remove Stinknet (Globe Chamomile), a fast-spreading invasive weed.
Volunteers hiked & explored multiple recreation sites along river while picking up trash & pulling invasive stinknet. Volunteers with kayaks & paddleboards pulled trash out of the river that volunteers on foot could not reach. Divers from Salty Scuba Squad dropped in at Goldfield & pulled trash from the river bottom!
