Visit Mesa Presents the 3rd annual
salty saguaro classic Lower Salt River Cleanup
On Saturday, October 25th, 2025, we hosted the 3rd annual Salty Saguaro Classic Lower Salt River Land & Water River Cleanup, Hawes Trail System Cleanup, & Fundraiser presented by Visit Mesa.
131 volunteers, including 11 youth volunteers, helped us remove 2,280 pounds (1.14 tons) of trash from the Lower Salt River & Hawes Trail System! We raised $3,176.02 to help support our restoration projects on the Tonto National Forest!

Volunteers hiked & explored multiple recreation sites along the Lower Salt River. We also had volunteers with kayaks & paddle boards floating the river, picking up trash volunteers on foot could not reach.
Justin from Natural Restorations took our Dedicated Restoration Team & a group of volunteers, including S.W.A.T.T, to remove several abandoned camps from the Hawes Trail System on the Tonto.
Raffle Winners
Volunteers won a raffle tickets for every bag of trash brought to our dedicated dumpster donated by Scott Waste Services. Volunteers also played River BINGO & Hawes Trail System BINGO to win additional raffle tickets. Thank you to all of our Event Sponsors for donating funding & raffle items! Raffle winner photos below.
