Burn Scar replanting, invasive grass removal, and trash & graffiti removal on the tonto national forest

Funded by a veterans grant from the U.S. Forest Service

34,894.78 pounds of trash removed, that’s 17.44 tons of trash no longer littering the Tonto National Forest!

220 sq ft of graffiti removed & 10 tires removed & recycled

240 cacti replanted in the bush fire burn scar, including 67 saguaros ranging from 1-6 feet tall, & we removed 1,660 pounds (.83 tons) of invasive grass from our replanting area.

We are the proud recipient of Veterans Grant from the U.S Forest Service for 2024/2025.

With grant funds from the U.S. Forest Service, our military veteran-based Dedicated Restoration Team completed 14 weeks of restoration work and hosted 6 volunteer events. We continue to a significant impact on the Tonto National Forest!

This grant provided 1,720 hours of restoration work in nature to the military veterans on our Dedicated Restoration Team. We also engaged 179 volunteers, including 18 youth volunteers, at our volunteer events and they donated 740.38 hours of their time to restoration projects on the Tonto.

Below you will find photos of trash removal, graffiti removal, burn scar replanting and invasive grass removal projects on the Tonto National Forest.
